Home School

In Home School training, I come to your home to work with your dog one-on-one for an hour a day for ten days. During this hour, I work with your dog in a handful of 10-15 minute sessions, giving them intermittent breaks to rest and taking notes on their progress. In addition to these ten sessions, you'll get two sessions in which I work with you and your dog together, showing you what they've learned and having you practice with them so that I know you can get the same results with your dog that I do.

  • Faster progress

  • Less work for you

  • Daily progress reports and weekly owner lessons

  • Starting at $800/12 days (taken in multiple installments if preferred)

Private Lessons

Private lessons are one-hour sessions that can happen as frequently as once a week. During this hour, we work with your dog together, and I demonstrate and handle your dog intermittently. However, the focus is mainly on teaching you the handling skills required for you to train your dog on your own, outside of our lessons.

  • Become a good dog trainer yourself

  • Bond with your dog in a new way

  • Take ownership of your dog's progress

  • Starting at $85/session

Both of these programs can be mixed, matched and customized to best suit your needs!

Book a training consultation

If you are interested in my services, I like to begin with an initial consultation so that I can hear about what your goals are for your dog's training and any problem behaviors you may be experiencing. This also allows me to give you more detailed information on my background and style of training, as well as explain to you how I would approach working toward your training goals.

All consultations are done by phone and are free of charge.

I will reach out to you via email to schedule your consultation. I do my best to reach out within 48 hours of receiving your inquiry, but since Good Dog Training is solely run by me, it sometimes takes me several days to get in touch with people who have submitted new inquiries.

Thank you for understanding!

Dogsitting

As of August 2023, I will be offering dogsitting services in clients' homes for $40/night. If you have more than one dog, it will be an additional $20/night/dog. My ten years of professional experience with dogs will help you rest assured that your dog is being well-cared for in the comfort of their own home.

My personal dog, a friendly and social red heeler, will have to stay with me in your home as well, so in order to qualify for my in-home dogsitting services, your dog must have met my dog prior to booking.

my background

I have been training dogs professionally since 2014. I've trained dogs as young as eight weeks and as old as thirteen years, ranging in size from miniature breeds to giant. My skill set is primarily in basic obedience, and I have plenty of experience working with a variety of behavioral issues including anxiety, fearfulness, reactivity, aggression and resource guarding.

I'm passionate about working directly with the dogs myself, but I also prioritize owner proficiency, because follow-through and consistency from dog owners are required for good dog training. I pride myself on my ability to teach my clients in a way that is intuitive and easy to understand for people without any prior knowledge of animal behavior; everybody can be a good dog trainer with the proper guidance!

My Mission

At Good Dog Training, I provide my clients with training that is well-rounded, affordable and fun. My mission is to help people form positive relationships with their dogs by providing them with the knowledge and skills required to foster good behavior in their pets.

I believe that good dog training begins in the home; forming good habits and patterns of behavior within our homes and daily routines is crucial to living happy lives with our dogs. I provide in-home training ranging from once or twice a month to five days a week, and I customize my packages to best suit the needs of my clients and their pets.

It is proven that dogs learn best when they are working from a place of motivation rather than compulsion or fear. Dog training should be fun for both you and your dog, so I use lots of positive reinforcement (treats, toys, praise). I employ a system of training called Marker Training; within this system, I can customize my approach to best suit each dog's learning style and temperament. My approach is balanced and fair, because I prioritize working toward well-mannered, obedient dogs who are still happy, confident and full of personality.
